Shannon Roberts | Soprano

Soprano Shannon Roberts holds dual US and Irish citizenship, dividing her time between New York and Europe, where she has toured in Austria, Germany, and Italy. A multiple award winner, Ms. Roberts has received prizes, grants, and or scholarships from; The Wagner Society of New York, the Liederkranz Foundation, the Lee Schaenen Foundation and the Connecticut Opera Guild, among others. While an apprentice artist at the Santa Fe Opera, Shannon originated the role of Rachel in Tobias Picker’s “Emmeline”. Other roles include; Aida, Amelia (Un Ballo in Maschera), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Tosca, Agathe (Der Freischütz), Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), and Suor Angelica (Puccini’s “ Il Trittico”).
 
A partial list of the companies with which Ms. Roberts has performed includes, Santa Fe Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Opera Company of the Highlands, The Bronx Opera, Lyric Opera of New York, the Natchez Festival of Music, Chelsea Opera, the El Dorado Opera of Los Angeles, and the Opera Theatre of Connecticut. Ms. Roberts values working with living composers and has debuted many composers’ songs in New York City. She has also collaborated with award winning Juilliard composer Bruce Lazarus, premiering his Song Cycle, White Boxes With Strings. Shannon Roberts attended the Hartt School of Music, and received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Florida, as well as a Special Artists’ Diploma from Miami’s prestigious New World School of the Arts. Ms. Roberts is managed by Pinnacle Arts Management.
