Sam Hagen | Tenor

2018 CARMEN Dancaïre, Chorus Master

Sam Hagen is playing the role of Le Dancairo and served as chorus master this season. He is a recent graduate of Drake University where he received a BA in Music. Sam has been seen as Basilio in the Drake University Opera Theater’s production of The Marriage of Figaro. He has been involved in scene study/young artist programs abroad in Verona, Italy and Beijing, China. Currently, Sam is the tenor soloist and section leader at First Baptist Church in Johnston, Iowa and teaches private voice and piano lessons in Des Moines. Following Carmen, he will be moving back to his home state of Minnesota where he will continue on the path of music and education.
